Terms & Conditions – Skip Bin Hire

These Terms & Conditions apply to all skip bin hire services provided by Bin There Done That Skips. By booking, accepting delivery, or using one of our skip bins, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

Hire Period

  • The standard hire period is 7 days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Extended hire periods may incur additional fees.
  • We reserve the right to collect the bin after the hire period expires.

Bin Use & Filling Rules

  • Bins must not be filled above the rim.
  • Overfilled bins may be emptied back onto the customer’s property or not collected until rectified, with no refund.
  • Waste must be evenly distributed within the bin.
  • Bins must not be relocated once delivered.
  • Any damage, relocation, or recovery costs will be charged to the customer.

Prohibited & Restricted Waste

The following items are strictly prohibited unless agreed in writing:

  • Asbestos or asbestos‑contaminated material
  • Hazardous, toxic, flammable, or liquid waste
  • Paints, chemicals, oils, fuels, batteries
  • Gas bottles, explosives, or pressurised containers
  • Medical or biological waste

If prohibited waste is detected, additional handling, disposal, and regulatory fees will apply, and authorities may be notified where required by law.

Waste Categories

General Household Waste

Furniture, textiles, timber, green waste, plasterboard, metal, and fittings.

Mixed Commercial / Building Waste

Concrete, bricks, tiles, soil, timber, gyprock, and mixed construction waste.

Clean Heavy Waste

Concrete, bricks, and soil only. No contamination permitted. Must not exceed legal transport weight limits.

Light Green Waste

Grass clippings, branches, wood chips, bark, and small stumps only.

Weight, Contamination & Extra Charges

  • Overweight bins may incur excess weight charges of $250 per tonne (or part thereof).
  • Contaminated loads incur a $450 per tonne surcharge.
  • Additional disposal charges may apply depending on waste type.

Additional Item Charges

  • Mattress: $80 each
  • Car tyre: $60 each
  • Truck tyre: $100 each

All additional fees may be charged automatically, and receipts will be provided.

Access, Delivery & Collection

  • The customer must ensure safe, clear, and unrestricted access for delivery and collection.
  • Failed delivery or collection due to access issues, overfilling, obstruction, or unsafe conditions will incur a $150 call‑out fee.
  • Delivery will occur on the booked date; collection may occur on or after the scheduled date.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, mechanical issues, or events outside our control.

Council Permits

  • If the bin is placed on council land (roads, footpaths, nature strips), a council permit is the customer’s responsibility.
  • Failure to obtain a required permit will result in a $150 call‑out fee plus any council fines or penalties.

Damage & Liability

  • The customer is responsible for the bin from delivery until collection.
  • Any damage to the bin, property, driveways, lawns, or underground services caused by placement or misuse is the customer’s responsibility.
  • We are not liable for damage caused by ground conditions, hidden services, or customer instructions.

Cancellations & Changes

Cancellations

  • Before 4:00pm on the business day prior: 10% of invoice
  • After 4:30pm on the business day prior: $100 cancellation fee

Changes

  • Rescheduled collection: $100 call‑out fee
  • Bin size change: minimum $100 fee plus any upgrade cost

Payment & Accounts

  • Full payment must be made prior to delivery or at drop‑off unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We may withhold delivery or collection if payment has not been received.
  • Unpaid accounts may be referred to debt collection, and reasonable recovery costs may be charged.

Right to Refuse Service

  • Unsafe conditions exist
  • Prohibited or contaminated waste is present
  • These Terms & Conditions are breached

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to Queensland courts.

Acceptance of Terms

By booking, ordering, or accepting delivery of a skip bin, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
